| This paper presents a method for making gold nanoparticles with uniform size by sonochemical method. Gold nanoparticles were prepared by reduction of hydrogen tetrachloroaurate with sodium citrate. In this reaction, sodium citrate acted as a reducing agent. The gold nanoparticles were characterized by ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The result show that the diameter of gold particles size from about 60 ~ 500 nm, the shape and size distribution of gold nanoparticles were changed with the reaction time, concentration of sodium citrate and hydrogen tetrachloroaurate. The morphologies of gold nanoparticles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy- dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). |
