| Block copolymers consisting of mutually insoluble blocks from micellar aggregates when dissolved in a solvent which is a thermodynamically good solvent for one block and a bad solvent for the other. Here we show the formation and microscopic haracterization of micelles consisting of block copolymers in which the blocks are linked through a bis-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine-ruthenium(II) complex. Depending on the composition of the block copolymer we observe spherical, cylindrical micelles or vesicles and due to the inherent presence of transition metal ions no additional staining is required in TEM imaging. |
