Development of time-resolved fluorescence (TR-FRET) probes for kinase assays is of current interest. We have synthesized a set of luminescent terbium(III) chelates derived from cyclen-triacetic acid and differently substituted 1-azaxanthones. These complexes have been tethered with a phosphopeptide, and the resulting compounds tested as TR-FRET donors for kinase assays on IMAP® platform. The synthesis of the terbium(III) donors as well as their applications in kinase assays will be discussed.
