The preparation of PEO-block-PTMSES by RAFT polymerization is described herein. The resulting diblock copolymer was analyzed using 1H NMR and SEC. Further analysis will elucidate the properties and solution-dependant structure of the diblock copolymer. The pendant alkyne groups can be used for further reactions, including the complexation of metals to the hydrophobic block of the copolymer for subsequent formation of metallic nanoparticles.
