The various derivatives of S2CX are typically bidentate although a small collection of g-bound, ç3 derivatives are known. Petroleum ether or dichloromethane solutions of the CpFe(CO)(S2CX) compounds exhibit a single carbonyl band in the IR, but in mixtures of 5 – 25% dichloromethane, or several other polar solvents, in petroleum ether two distinct bands are observed. Spectra evidence for these linkage isomers will be discussed.
