Preparing for the transition from academic science to a large pharmaceutical company can be a stressful and exhausting experience. It is also a wonderful time for a scientist to shine. In job interviews with pharmaceutical companies, you will: consolidate your body of work into a well-formulated seminar; articulate the approach, results and significance of your work to a variety of key players (executives, scientists, and administrators); display your enthusiasm for and dedication to research; and evaluate how each company fits your professional and personal needs. In this presentation, learn how to prepare for on-site interviews and gain insight into strategies for thriving in “Big Pharma.” From first impressions at the interview to advocating for a promising but risky project, your ability to effectively communicate your science and your potential are keys to success in industry.
