The membrane characteristics of capsules composed of sodium cellulose sulfate (NaCS) and poly[dimethyl(diallyl)ammonium chloride] (PDMDAAC) was investigated under the condition of introduction other molecular. The small molecule, soluble polymers, soluble polyion and salt of small molecule were individually added into polyanion (NaCS) solution to check their effects on capsule formation. The membrane thickness and mechanical intensity of capsules were studied under the condition of different concentration of molecular added. Simultaneously the effects of molecular added on viscosity and Zeta potential of dilute NaCS solution were investigated. The study indicated that effects of additional molecular on the membrane characteristics could be judged by viscosity and Zeta potential variation of dilute polyectrolytes with addition of other molecules. It was analyzed that effect of additional molecule on the reaction between polyelectrolytes, and an explanation correlating characteristics of capsule to properties of dilute solution was proposed according to solution lattice theory.
