Three new rhenium polyhydride complexes, ReH7(L2), incorporating bidentate organophosphorus ligands (L2 = xantphos; biphep and DPEphos), were successfully synthesized by treatment of the corresponding ReOCl3(L2) precursor with excess LiAlH4.  The complexes were characterized by IR, variable temperature 1H and 31P NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis.
