| Chemistry as the central science takes a unique and vital role in the creating and maintaining academic sustainability centers. Green Chemistry stands at the frontier of science, establishing new and creative mechanisms to achieve sustainability objectives. Organizations often focus a disproportionate amount of resources on identifying and characterizing the PROBLEMS society is facing in terms of sustainability. Green chemistry offers a pro-active positive glance at possible SOLUTIONS. This presentation will discuss efforts taken by the Center for Green Chemistry at UMASS Lowell to integrate green chemistry principles across the academic spectrum. |
