Catalytic cracking behaviour of directly blending CGO into VGO as FCC feedstocks and narrow cuts of CGO was investigated in a confined fluided bed reactor. For directly blinding Daqing CGO into Daqing VGO, the blending weight ratio is the key issue of inhibiting the feedstock cracking ability and high operational severity will lead to product distribution undesirable. Five narrow cuts of Daqing CGO were obtained by a true boiling point distillation. The experiments carried out at the same reaction condition by using narrow cuts as feedstock showed that the cracking ability of CGO was inhibited not only by basic nitrogen but also by aromatics. High content of basic nitrogen and aromatics in CGO leads to low conversion and undesirable product distribution.
