Corroles are aromatic tetrapyrrole marcrocycles bearing a direct pyrrole-pyrrole link which have received considerable attention in recent years.  They have found some use as possible drug candidates, catalysts for electrochemistry, and DNA cleaving agents to name a few.  In response to this interest, the synthesis, spectroscopic properties and electrochemistry of meso substituted A3-corroles will be presented.
