New and interesting properties can be obtained from macromolecule architectures functionalized with supramolecular moieties. The incorporation of metal-ligands to polymer backbone impart many properties including luminescence, electro- and photo-chemistry, catalysis, charge, magnetism, thermochromism and self assembly. We report novel macromolecules prepared via ATRP that contain activated esters for subsequent incorporation of terpyridine. The addition of metal salts gave metal functionalized polymers that exhibited self assembled architectures.
