In this presentation some of the developments in teaching physical chemistry using technology will be traced from their origins in the 1993 during "The Uses of Technology in Chemical Education" online chemical education conference. The three main threads are: what every chemist should know about computing, using symbolic mathematics in physical chemistry instruction, and physical chemistry on line (PCOL). This report honors Dr. Rosenthal for his unfailing efforts to promote the use of technology in the chemistry classroom.
