In this paper, a simple method for the simultaneous determination of inorganic anions (chloride, nitrate, sulfate) in sulfolane with a novel column-switching injection system is reported. A pre-concentration column was used for the enrichment of the low concentration of anions in sulfolane. As a result, the organic matrix could be excluded from the analyte before the separation process to avoid any infection on the analytical column, as well as the detect limit can be lowered. After being switched to analytical system, the separation was performed using 9 mmol/L sodium carbonate as the eluent at a flow of 0.25 ml/min. The detection limit (signal to noise of 3:1) of this method can be reached to ppb level (<2.22 ppb) due to the enrichment. The simple way can be applied to the detection of real samples successfully. The spiked recoveries for the anions were between 96.24%-107.51%.
