INOR 609 |
| A new asymmetrical binucleating ligand, 1,3-bis(1,4,7-triazacyclonon-1-yl)-butan-2-ol(L-OH), was synthesized. Binuclear Zn(II) and Cu(II) complexes have been prepared and characterized by X-ray crystallography. In both complexes, three nitrogen atoms of each [9]aneN3 moiety of L-O- are coordinated to Zn and Cu atoms, respectively and an oxygen atom of the 2-hydroxybutyl linker bridges two metal atoms. In Zn(II) complex, a H2O/OH molecule is bridged between two Zn(II) ions with an O-Zn distance of 2.181 and 2.051Å, resulting [Zn2(L-O-)(H2O)]2.5ClO42H2O. In contrast, two water molecules are bound to Cu(II) ions, respectively with an O-Cu distance of 2.002 and 2.032Å, giving [Cu2(L-O-)(H2O)2]3ClO4. Catalytic reactivity in hydrolyzing phosphate esters including DNA was investigated and compared with that of the Cu and Zn complexes of 1,3-bis(1,4,7-triazacyclonon-1-yl)-propan-2-ol(L'-OH). |
