Novel aluminum and gallium bridged [1]metallarenophanes (M = V, Cr, Mo) can be prepared by using trisyl based donor ligands at the group 13 element. By altering the ligand Rx unprecedented [1.1]metallarenophanes were obtained. The synthesis and characterization of these novel [1]- and [1.1]metallarenophanes will be presented.
