Periodic polymer/air structures for photonics and phononics

There has been much recent interest in periodic structures in 1,2 and 3 dimensions at the sub-micron and nanoscale, due to their interesting behavior with photons and phonons at these length scales. There has also been much work towards the fabrication of such structures via interference lithography as it enables fast, single step fabrication of complex 3D polymeric/air structures. We discuss here some of the results on the fabrication, utilizing interference lithography, of such periodic polymer/air structures for Photonics and Phononics.
