FUEL 250 |
| Through the application of proprietary microchannel reactor technology, unique catalyst formulations, and improvements in compact thermal heat exchanger and burner design InnovaTek has developed a fuel processor with high thermal and resource efficiencies. A manufacturing approach for the micro-channel components was developed to reduce cost by eliminating chemical etching and diffusion bonding. The technology developed utilizes energy dense liquid hydrocarbon fuels to meet the endurance and energy capacity requirements for portable and on-board applications. This paper will present specific power and cost analyses for fuel processing based on InnovaTek's design for a microchannel reactor compared to a conventional tube reactor design for portable power applications. Studies conducted to examine thermal management, water management, and fuel management will be reported, including the results of long-term testing. |
