Challenges of teaching high school chemistry in Germany

The talk will deal with the challenges that exist for high school teachers of chemistry in Germany: the quality and quantity of classroom and laboratory equipment, financial limitations, development and presentation of experimental lessons, student motivation, chemistry exams, and competitions. The further education of high school chemistry teachers and the promotion of life-long learning will be discussed in the context of the programs of the German Chemical Society.
