We have established a preparation method of organic-inorganic layered compound in which Self-assemble reaction occurred by reacting metal hydroxide and carboxylic acid. Object of this study is to establish new preparation method of composites by using two kinds of metal hydroxides as reactants to attain a new function. In the reaction of 2-naphthoic acid with the mixture of Zn(OH)2 and Mg(OH)2, new compound with different interlayer spaces of Zn(OH)2 was produced. It was confirmed that Mg(OH)2 was included between the layers by a result of EDS. It suggested a preparation of the layered compound containing two kinds of metal hydroxide as the layer unit. In addition, control of the amount of interlayer anion was possible by changing the ratio of two metal hydroxides.
