| The lifeblood of a company is its ability to develop new products to meet the demands of the market. Nevertheless, when a corporation contemplates launching a new product, inherently, the risks of patent infringement also increase. Before launching a new product, therefore, prudent companies often mitigate the risks of patent infringement by studying infringement concerns and adopting strategies to manage them. This presentation discusses strategies for limiting the risk of patent infringement before launching new products. Topics addressed include methods of finding patents that may impact a new product, clearance searches, opinions of counsel, design around strategies, and licensing. |
