Release of amino acids and carboxylates from the p-hydroxyphenacyl (pHP) derivatives has been reported for biological studies. In the attempt to improve the efficiency of release, to excite the phototriggers with visible light and to capacitate for multiple release; dendron structure is adopted for further derivatization of the pHP phototrigger. Low generation dendron based on phenylacetylenyl phenacyl (PAP) is synthesized to explore photorelease of Tyrosine and phenol. The photolysis of the dendron phototrigger is being investigated.
