In the last years, the increasing use of low sulphur fuels, and of enhanced emission and PK-fertilizer controls, there has been a dramatic reduction in the soils of sulphur. These change has had an imporatant impact in plant nutrition, since the field crops have become inreasingly dependent on soil to supply the sulphur that they need for the synthesis of proteins and a number of essential vitamins and cofactors. Triticale is worldwide importance, but limited research exists about the effects of soil S change on these crop. Bofore harvesting stage shoot and grain weight, shoot-, grain-, and soil S concentrations, acid ammonium-acetate EDTA-soluble (LE-, Lacanen and Erviö, 1971) were determined with different NPKCaMg fertilization rates at the 44-year old Nyírlugos Field Trial (NYFT) experimental site (N: 470 41' 60'' and E: 220 2' 80'') representing a fragile agro-ecological and soil condition of Hungary in 2006. At the trial set up in 1962, the sandy acidic lessivated brown forest soil (WRB: Haplic Luvisol) had the following agrochemical properties: pH (H2O) 5.9, pH (KCl) 4.7, hydrolytic acidity 8.4, hy1 0.3, humus 0.7%, total N 34 mg kg-1, ammonlactate (AL) soluble-P2O5 43 mg kg-1, AL-K2O 60 mg kg-1 in the plowed (0-25 cm) layer. From 1980 to 2006, the experiment consisted of 32x4=128 plots in randomised block design. The gross plot size was 10x5=50 m2. The average fertiliser rates in kg ha-1 year-1 were nitrogen 75, phosphorus 90 (P2O5), potassium 90 (K2O), calcium 437.5 (CaCO3) and magnesium 140 (MgCO3). Both shoot and grain concentration were affected less by soil S content levels than the shoot and grain weights. That is to say, the effect of soil S was significant, especially on shoot (R=0.5281***) and grain (R=0.5793***) weights and there was no significant on shoot (R=0.3653) and grain (R=0.2131) S concentrations.
