Analysis of initial placement test results and enrollment in honors general chemistry on chemistry major graduates

The results of a placement test for entrance to either General Chemistry or Honors General Chemistry at a small liberal arts college are discussed. The Honors General Chemistry section had a focus of Environmental Chemistry and students were placed into that section based on earning high scores on the placement test. Students in each section were tracked to see the result of placement in to the Honors/Environment section on subsequent graduation patterns (chemistry graduates vs. non-chemistry graduates).
