Studies on the thermal properties of star polymer with â-cyclodextrin core

In this paper a novel star polymer with cyclodextrin core and polyacrylonitrile arms was synthesized. The thermal properties of star polymers were changed by adjusting the ratio of functional â-CD and monomers. The structures and properties of star polymers were characterized by IR, UV, GPC and DSC. The results indicate that the glass temperature (Tg) of star polymer increased as the content of â-CD in star polymer was added. Furthermore, the star polymers possess narrow polydispersity.
