Tilorone derivatives of cisplatin were synthesized employing a simple aqueous solution polymerization. The products are polymeric. Low (to 1,000 daltons) to high (to about 120,000 daltons) F MALDI MS was employed to assist in structure characterization. The low range results allowed identification of one and two units while the high range results allowed the identification of up to 200 units. Identification of ion fragment clusters containing one ClPtCl combinations was accomplished employing isotopic abundance studies.
