The adsorption properties of NPS petroleum sulfonate on reservoir sand were investigated.The adsorption isotherm of NPS at 70°C shows that the adsorption exhibits maximum value near the concentration of CMC.The effects of HPAM and different kind of electrolytes on the adsorption of NPS were studied.It has been found that HPAM at low concentration can increase the adsorption of NPS,when HPAM concentration above 0.003 g/mL,the adsorption of NPS decreases rapidly.The effect of various electrolytes on the adsorption of NPS is different.The oil-displacement efficiency of NPS solutions was determined in core-flooding experiments. 0.25wt.% NPS solutions can increase oil recovery 13.9%,so NPS solutions can displace residual crude oil efficiently.When electrolytes are added,the displacement efficiency of systems is higher.0.25wt.% NPS solutions can increase oil recovery 24.2% when added 0.5wt.% NaCl,and it can increase oil recovery 28.7% when added 0.5wt.% Na2CO3.
