| Different polymorphs of novel layered α-cobalt hydroxide have been synthesized and the crystallinity, morphologies and the related magnetic properties have been studied thoroughly by X-ray powder diffraction (Rietveld refinement), HRTEM and SQUID magnetometer. Time-resolved in situ diffraction studies were performed in order to determine the rate of phase transformation as well as to investigate the reaction mechanism. |
