The monohomotropylium ion has been known for over 40 years. However, no higher homoaromatic carbocations have been synthesized or discussed using modern theory. We will report a DFT study of several potentially monohomoaromatic systems with 10, 14, 18, and 22 pi electrons. Several of these are reasonable homoaromatic synthetic targets.
