The training of college students, with future career goals of teaching at the elementary, middle and high school level is an extremely important undertaking. Yet for many institutions, due to the time constraints placed on tenured and tenure track faculty to train future science majors, it can be hard to obtain a uniform faculty base in these courses. At the same time, because of the importance of good training for future science teachers to all of science the highest level of academic achievement and commitment is needed by those who train these students. We have addressed this issue, through the use of recently retired high school chemistry faculty. These individuals have advanced degrees and many years of teaching experience. In addition they possess a desire to continue to impact students of science. Information will be presented on this program and how it is implemented.
