Investigating the absolute charge of transition metal substituted heteropoly tungstates

Various transition metals are easily substituted into heteropoly tungstate ions. Different substitutions cause slight variations in pKa as observed by potentiometric titration and cyclic voltammetry. The absolute charge is determined using capillary electrophoresis. These results offer valuable insight toward rational catalyst design.
