Photochromism of transition metal substituted heteropoly tungstates as tetraheptylammonium salts in various solvents under broadband UV light is observed in the presence of alcohols. Products from the alcohol oxidation are quantified using GC-TCD, GCMS, and ion chromatography. Preliminary evidence of CO2 reduction is demonstrated.
