Box 5100, San Germán, PR 00683-9801.
After both attending the CWCS workshop at Utah in 2005, Dr. Fan from PVAMU and Dr. Vivoni from PR-San German come to an agreement to collaborate on various teaching and research projects. PVAMU and PR-San German both are classified as Minority universities. There are many common challenges faced in both schools, such as attracting more minority students into the chemistry program, increasing the retention and graduation rate, applying for competitive grants and strengthening the chemistry programs. Joint activities carried out so far include seminars, presentations, grant application, and sharing and incorporating a computational chemistry module into undergraduate teaching. The results are very promising. Permanently adapting the computational module into the undergraduate curriculum is well underway.
