CHED 1735

Daphne M. Norton, dnorton@emory.edu, Department of Chemistry, Emory University, Atlanta, GA 30322
This presentation will focus on the flexibility of resources provided through the Center for Workshops in the Chemical Sciences and the ability to use materials to develop an entire course or supplement an existing course. Specifically, a new course, a research lab for general chemistry that emphasizes materials chemistry and nanotechnology, has been developed from workshop materials. In addition, a module for analytical chemistry that focuses on the chemistry of art conservation was taught at the University of Siena during a study abroad program in Italy. In conclusion, the use of workshop material for continuing education courses and Science Olympiad will be discussed.
