Two-year college research experience for undergraduates

Two Chicago-area community colleges, Harold Washington College and William Rainey Harper College have set up undergraduate research experiences where students work during the academic year with full-time faculty on their unique research projects and transition to collaborating four-year institutions for a summer research experience. Students and faculty also engage in a variety of networking, outreach, and community-building experiences as part of the program. This presentation will describe the structure of this research experience and the evaluation that has been carried out on the student and mentor experiences.
