The CWCS workshops have the opportunity to provide additional networking opportunities for faculty beyond the program itself. One such example is provided by the work of one of the authors to incorporate principles learned at the Chemical Education: Supporting Student Laboratory Learning workshop within a wider NSF-funded project at her home institution. This led to a separate workshop on inquiry learning to different disciplines on her own campus and, more recently, to a workshop to science and math educators from her home state. The ways in which this has allowed a workshop organizer to deepen and broaden ideas related to the workshop will also be discussed.
