A database driven lab submission program has been written and used at Lee University. Students come to the campus laboratory and perform the experiment. A copy of their data is given to their lab instructor and lab attendance is set - students who did not attend the lab cannot submit a lab report online. After the student enters their data online, the program takes them to the first calculation and waits for the answer. If the student's answer is incorrect, points can be deducted. A correct answer takes the student to the next calculation. Intermixed among the calculations can be balanced equations, open-ended questions, multiple choice questions, etc. Class reports are generated that allow points to be awarded based on lab results. Finally, the electronic lab report generated during the submission process contains the student's submission history and it can be accessed by both student and instructor with internet access.
