We developed a simple and efficient synthesis of alpha-arylpropenoic acid ester in two steps, from a commercially available starting material. Recently, these acid esters have been converted to a-arylpropanoic acids which are widely used as Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory agents, such as Aleve, Advil, etc. In this poster we will present our new synthesis in making the analogs of these drugs. With these analogs we hope to discover new biologically active compounds.
