Transition metal catalyzed cyclization reactions have become an important method for construction of carbocyclic and heterocyclic ring systems. Many medicines such as steroids contain five and six membered rings. The cyclization of β-alkoxy dienes, using organozirconium reagents, to form 1,2-methyl-vinyl cyclohexanes has been the focus of this research.
