POGIL (Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning) is a student-centered instructional paradigm that is based on research about how students learn. POGIL combines a group learning approach with specially designed guided inquiry activities. The goal is not only to enhance student mastery of course content, but also to develop important process skills such as communication, problem solving, and critical thinking. This presentation will describe the POGIL approach and its basis, and provide some information about student learning outcomes based on this approach.
