| Although multiple choice testing has many pedagogical drawbacks, tests in larger lecture classrooms often use some to all multiple choice test formats to allow for timely feedback to students. The Immediate Feedback Assessment Technique (IF-AT) exam form is a unique type of multiple-choice exam that provides instant feedback allowing students the chance to reevaluate and learn from an incorrect answer. This feedback-reevaluation loop more closely resembles the peer feedback loop utilized in cooperative learning classrooms like POGIL classrooms. This talk will discuss experiences using these IF-AT forms for testing in POGIL classrooms. The talk will also discuss the possibility of using student IF-AT responses for classroom assessment. |
