Synthesis and characterization of {[Co2(1,3-ADC) 2(4,4`-bipy) 4(NO3)2]•MeOH}n

In recent years there has been great interest in the synthesis of 3-D metal-organic coordination polymers due to their potential applications in fields that range from simple applications such as environmental to catalysis. This poster reports the synthesis and characterization of {[Co2(1,3-ADC)2(4,4`-bipy)4(NO3)2]•MeOH}n using a self-assembly approach. The compound was characterized using infrared spectroscopy, thermal gravimetric analysis, and single and powder x-ray diffraction. In addition, the effect of the template in the crystalline structure of the complex was investigated.
