The ACS Web reinvention effort is on course to deliver a valuable, consistent, and user-driven experience for American Chemical Society members and nonmembers alike. To this end, ACS has organized focus groups and surveys on new features-such as wikis, blogs, and Social software. There are a number of ACS programs that are currently using social software tools to help communicate with committees, share information on programs and elicit information from various groups.

This session will present a number of specific examples of how social software is being used for group collaboration in writing and editing reports, communicating with committees, and sharing information across the web. From using Wiki technology to organize a task force to Yahoo groups as the backbone of communication for the new ACS High School Chemistry Clubs, look to see how ACS is building social software into its Web presence.
