Students enrolled in the CASPiE section of the general chemistry course at Purdue University are given a unique experience to participate in faculty research early in their undergraduate studies. CASPiE students expand and hone their research abilities such as keeping a lab notebook, writing a scientific paper, or giving an oral presentation through peer-led team learning. Through group learning and accelerated lab techniques, students are able to gain invaluable research experience. In this talk we will report and discuss our experiences.
