The Discovery Corps Fellowship genesis of this project, a collaboratory between East Africa and the United States will be briefly surveyed. The morphing of the project from a simple one year adventure into a much larger enterprise will be detailed. Current efforts to design a simple and easily used interface for low bandwidth clients remotely using instrumentation at Loyola from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania will be described. A survey of instrumental needs in the teaching of analytical chemistry and for research in East Africa will be presented.
