CHEM 101 is the first semester of a two semesters General Organic and Biochemistry Introductory program at Binghamton University. Half of the registered students on the course are nursing students and the remaining are non-science students working towards theirs Laboratory credit of their General Education requirements or pre-nursing students. The author will present the results of transitioning from a traditional lecture to a Process-Oriented Guided-Inquiry Learning (POGIL) lecture. The reason for introducing POGIL, methodology, TA training, accomplishments and difficulties will be discussed.
