The synthesis and properties of â-cyclodextrin derivatized Bovine Serum Albumin (â-CD-BSA) used as chiral selector in pressure capillary electrochromatography were investigated in this paper. The preparation of capillary electrochromatographic column with â-CD-BSA is consisted of three steps, the synthesis of â-CD-BSA, the modification of the capillary internal surface and the covalent binding of â-CD-BSA on the capillary internal wall. Chlorpheniramine, phenylalanine, troopine and ibuprofen were separated by â-CD-BSA using capillary electrochromatography. The effect of operation voltage was performed using chlorpheniramine as the enantiomers, and the results showed that the good separation can be obtained at higher operation voltage. Using racemic tryptophan as chiral sample, the comparisons of chiral separation results on â-CD, BSA and â-CD-BSA were discussed.
