The accumulation of plastics in landfills is becoming a major problem. "Green" polyolefins" are presented to introduce new degradable polyolefins. These polyolefins offer an alternative disposal route than landfills for plastics. Modification of commodity polyolefins has resulted in new degradable materials. Polyolefin polymers were synthesized using single site catalysts. These new polymers are copolymers containing degradable comonomers. The copolymers so produced are “green” polyolefins suitable for many applications polyolefins are used for today. In this poster presentation, the synthesis, characterization and properties are discussed.
