In an effort to modularize the delivery of Inorganic Chemistry and to incorporate Computational Chemistry into the curriculum, a course was developed in Computational Chemistry and Group Theory. Using each of these tools to teach the other creates a learning experience for students to develop expertise on these useful chemistry tools. Implementation of this course into the curriculum will be discussed, along with exercises for students to visualize the concepts taught in Group Theory using Computational Chemistry, as well as use Group Theory to drive projects in Computational Chemistry. Results and feedback from teaching the course is used in improving the content, and the course has contributed to an increasing interest in students incorporating Computational Chemistry techniques in their research projects.
