Santa Clara University SAACS members are an integral part of our local chemistry community. Within the Chemistry Department, members assist at numerous events, provide munchies for a seminar series, interact with Departmental guests, and provide feedback on many Departmental projects. The club organizes social activities that provide opportunities for students, faculty and staff to interact in a relaxed environment. Club activities are planned with care to balance social events (Pizza with the Profs, Pi(e) Day Socials) with career-relevant activities (attending scientific meetings, giving presentations at conferences) and community service projects (hands-on science demonstrations at elementary schools, co-hosting a science career fair, participating in local section activities (National Chemistry Week, the Chemistry Olympiad)). The key elements to our success are a group of students who are enthusiastic about their role in the SCU community of science scholars. We are proud to celebrate our 50th anniversary as a student affiliates chapter!
